The Accounting and IT departments help to keep all our daily operations running smoothly from behind the scenes.
Why Choose an Accounting or IT Job in Yellowstone?
- You are organized. Accuracy and attention to detail are critical to both the Accounting & IT departments.
- You have strong analytical skills and communication skills. While the job itself may require technical knowledge, you will also be interacting with other co-workers to support the department.
- You have computer skills, particularly PC. Depending on your role, you may need experience with the Microsoft Office Suite or department specific systems and applications.
- You prefer sedentary work -the majority of time sitting at a desk. Physical activity may be required when transporting supplies, equipment, or files.

Night Auditor
The Night Auditor supports the location accounting department by compiling and summarizing the location’s daily sales. The Night Auditor works in the middle of the night, without direct supervision at location, with a focus on organization and data entry.
Audit Clerk
The Audit Clerk verifies remits, prepares bank deposits, performs data entry and assists in auditing tasks in the location offices. Cash handling experience preferred.
Accounting Clerk
An Accounting Clerk has many different positions including General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Payroll. This is a highly confidential job that may include substantial amounts of filing, data entry, reviewing and preparing daily reports, and responding to guest/employee inquiries.
Office Assistants
This position is responsible for many of the daily administrative duties, including employee payroll and sales reports. We hire assistants for the Food and Beverage and Housekeeping departments.
IT Technicians
These positions provide direct support for the applications and hardware used throughout the park. Occasional in-park travel may be required when remote support is not possible.

Fun Fact: Both the Accounting and IT departments are based in Mammoth Hot Springs. The Accounting Department also has staff at each location around Yellowstone National Park.

Meet Matt
Matt is an Auditor (based out of Mammoth Hot Springs). He is originally from North Mississippi and came to Yellowstone to follow his passion for all things outdoors. Part of his job includes traveling to various locations in the park on a regular basis. In his free time, Matt enjoys fly-fishing, hunting & skiing. His best tip for new employees is “it’s not the job – it’s the place. Make it a point to spend as much time enjoying this PLACE as you possibly can, the possibilities are literally endless.”

Meet Christa
Christa is an IT Technician (based out of Mammoth Hot Springs). She is originally from California and first came to Yellowstone in 2002. Her first job was as a Night Auditor at the Lake Lodge. Not wanting to be in a big city anymore, she came to Yellowstone to try something different. Not only has she worked for Xanterra at Yellowstone, but she also spent 2 seasons at the Grand Canyon.
